"Security warning" pops up - IE8 stops responding
Sometimes when searching the web I select a site of interest - and get the pop-up box "Security warning: You are about to view a site in safe mode. Do you want to continue? Ok/Cancel." So far, so good. Now the strange part: I can click what I want (again: sometimes!), even try to close IE8 at all, and nothing happens. No page loaded, no responses from IE8. Only solution: To kill iexplore.exe via task manager. It doesn't happen so often but is that a known issue?Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. Hi,maybe it depends on the site you visit? Is your system up to date?To figure out if the site is the error source, you can try a different browser (only to test).

One example is clicking on this link: http://forums.asp.net/p/661521/661521.aspx#661521. Every time I click on it, the oddity happens. And it happens only in IE8, not for instance in Firefox. So, if it depends on the site, at least the way IE addresses it has some problem.BTW, my system is as far up to date as it can be... Addendum: What I forgot to mention, the "security warning" box is mere nonsense. The above link leads to a page without any restrictions (no SSL, HTTPS or something, just a normal page from a normal forum). Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. Hm, the site works fine with my IE 7 and 8. Maybe you changed any setting?

I don't remember that but after resetting all to default security settings, the problem seems indeed to be gone. The noisy box popped up for a last time (I keep wondering why) but now, I could click on "don't show this warning again" - I couldn't do this before - and all is working as normal. Thx!Mob.
